Highway 401 / Stevenson Rd. interchange construction. The work was divided into the following three parts:
Part A: The work included full interchange construction at Stevenson Rd. in Oshawa to replace the old Park Rd. interchange to the east. The work consisted of five new structures. Two of these structures, Stevenson Rd. and CPR (spur line to General Motors), were constructed to accommodate the future ten lane platform for Hwy. 401. Roadway work included HMLPs, intersection signalization, watermains, storm sewers, sanitary sewers, stormwater management ponds, retaining walls and noise wall construction.
Part B: This section of the project consisted of pavement rehabilitation on the Highway 401 eastbound lanes and interchange ramps with roadside safety upgrades between Oshawa and Clarington (20km).
Part C: This section of the project consisted of municipal roadway improvements, realignment and widening of Champlain Ave., conventional illumination, traffic signalization and landscaping.
